Residents of Puerto Plata proudly declare that theirs is the most beautiful beachfront boulevard in the Dominican Republic.
You will understand this when you see the multiple white sand beaches lining the main avenue of the city, each with its own name.
Aside from beach days in the city center, the long shaded boulevard sidewalk is ideal for morning or evening walks.
    The sunrises here are spectacular.
You can stop at one of the many bars and restaurants along the Malecón.
You can also take a bike ride along the bike path.
Enjoy the breeze, have a sunset drink, or get some exercise by walking along the boardwalk to Long Beach.
Numerous events take place along the boulevard throughout the year, including the Puerto Plata Carnival.
